JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida men’s golf officially releases its competition slate for the 2024-25 season on Monday afternoon.
The Ospreys look to keep its momentum going from its recent NCAA Championship appearance for the eighth time in program history. They look to return to conference championship glory in the Atlantic Sun tournament for the first time since 2022.
Additionally, the tournament schedule consists of 11 total tournaments, headlined by The Hayt that will be hosted by UNF from Mar. 8-10 at Sawgrass Country Club. With five events in the fall and six in the spring, they will also repeat their trips to Hawaii and Puerto Rico as well, along with the ASUN Championship from Apr. 22-24.
“This is a very difficult schedule and will be fun to see how this new group handles it,” said Director of Golf Scott Schroeder. “With all the new guys in the mix, it be important that we focus on what we can control and just keep working hard to make sure we are getting better as a team.”
Last season, UNF placed in the top five for every event in the fall, followed with four top-three placements in the spring that included runner-up finishes in the Sea Best Invitational and the Gator Invitational. They also placed fifth in the NCAA Rancho Santa Fe Regional after leading the field the first two days as well.
Key returners for the Ospreys this upcoming season will be Jason Duff, Chase Carroll, Filippo Serra and Justin Ross. Brett Schell will be eligible for play in 2024-25 after taking a medical redshirt last year, while Adam Vermut will serve as the lone newcomer as a successful NJCAA transfer from Eastern Florida.
