Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant, Michael Ervin has been promoted to Assistant Coach and Director of Basketball Operations. Before originally joining the CSU staff early this summer, Ervin was an assistant coach for the Lenoir-Rhyne men’s basketball program. Prior to Lenoir-Rhyne, Ervin was an assistant coach for the Red Hawks of Catawba Community College overseeing a majority of the team’s offense, recruiting, and weight room workouts. Ervin is a graduate of Appalachian State University and was a student manager for the men’s basketball team while attending the university.
Head Coach Saah Nimley: “I am very excited about Erv being promoted to an assistant coach. He has prior experience at the division 2 level, and has shown just that in his first few months with us. He is a gym rat and a very hard worker and super dependable. I know he will do a great job in this role and has a bright future ahead.”
