BRUNSWICK, Maine – Hamilton College’s Hank Morgan ’25 led all players with 25 points as the Continentals posted a 75-70 NESCAC win against the Bowdoin College Polar Bears inside Bowdoin’s Morrell Gymnasium on Friday, Jan. 31.

How It Happened
Trailing 69-68 with 2:39 to go in the second half, Teja Singh ’25 hit a timely jumper, putting the Continentals ahead 70-69 with 2:25 left on the clock.
Bowdoin committed a turnover on their next possession, and following a Hamilton timeout, Matthew Rideout ’27 drained a clutch 3-pointer, extending the Continentals’ lead to 73-69 with 55 seconds remaining.
The Polar Bears’ Afamdi Achufusi was sent to the free-throw line, sinking one of two attempts. Morgan then grabbed the defensive rebound and was fouled on the play.
Bowdoin seized an opportunity following a missed free throw by Hamilton, launching a final three-point attempt with nine seconds remaining. Nolan Bessire secured the offensive rebound, but the Continentals’ defense stepped up, forcing a pivotal turnover as Morgan intercepted the ball and sealed the win with two free throws.
Bowdoin raced to a 12-4 advantage, fueled by four straight three-pointers, with 15:24 remaining in the first half.
The Continentals surged with a swift 7-0 run, sparked by a three-point play from Garett Keyhani ’26 and capped off by a dunk from Jalen Reese ’27, tying the game at 15-15 with 12:03 remaining.
Down by four at 24-20, Morgan went on a 7-point run, putting Hamilton ahead 27-24 with 4:21 remaining.
The Polar Bears kept it tight, leveling the score at 27-27 and later pulling within one point twice. However, the Continentals finished the half strong, ending with a 10-3 run to take a 42-35 lead into the break
Bowdoin set a 10-2 run to erase a seven-point deficit and seize a 57-56 lead with 9:27 remaining in the second half.
Notes
Morgan leads the conference in scoring with 21.6 points per game. He added a team-high eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Keyhani contributed 13 points, while Singh had 12 points and four rebounds.
Rideout netted 10 points from off the bench.
Reese added six points and three boards.
Ray Cuevas led Bowdoin with 18 points.
James McGowan registered 12 point and four rebounds.
Bessire chipped in nine points and grabbed a team-best 10 rebounds.
Logue tallied eight points and three assists.
Chris Simonds added eight points and seven boards.
Achufusi had five points, six rebounds and three assists.
The Continentals finished 50 percent (28-56) from the floor, and 83.3 percent (15-18) at the charity stripe.
Bowdoin shot 38.8 percent (19-49) from the field, 45 percent (9-20) from beyond the arc, and hit 23-of-30 at the line.
Hamilton tallied 42 points in the paint to Bowdoin’s 18.
The Polar Bears owned a slight 32-30 edge off the glass.
The contest featured 11 lead changes eight ties.
