Impact Sports & Fitness and Memorial Health System (MHS) of Abilene will host an Impact the Cause 5K Race, 2M Family or Fun Walk, and Kids Race on Saturday, October 5th. Proceeds for this event will be distributed by the Memorial Health Foundation within the community. Preregistration on the day of the event begins at 7:00 a.m. with races starting at 8:00 at Impact Sports & Fitness.
Billy Hansen, MHS Public Relations Coordinator, said this event is a refresh of a former popular event in Abilene.
The Abilene High School FCCLA Club will be serving breakfast from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. with all proceeds going back to FCCLA. Hansen said breakfast is open to the public, not just racers.
Hansen highlighted what this year’s funds will go toward.
Hansen said you do not need to be a participant to register and help this cause and early registration is encouraged. Early entrants will have a chance to pick up their shirts/packets in the hospital lobby on October 3rd and 4th from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Race day entry will also be accepted. More information and the link to register can be found on the MHS Facebook page.
