LIBERTY — Melodi “Renee” Fiorenzo, 66, passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. She was a kind and loving soul, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Renee was born in Charleston, W.Va., on Aug. 10, 1958. She was the eldest daughter of Melvin and Patricia Brogan Walker.
Renee graduated from George Washington High School in 1976 and began working at the Charleston Gazette. Soon after that, she decided to join the seasonal workforce. During the winter months, she worked as a barmaid at the Red Fox Restaurant at Snowshoe Mountain Resort in Snowshoe, W.Va. She greeted and served skiers and snowboarders with warmth. It was at this job that she met her beloved husband, Richard, who worked as a ski instructor. During the summer months, she moved to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, where she worked as a waitress at Port O’ Call Restaurant, providing excellent service to beachgoers and vacationers. In 1996, she decided to retire from her job to dedicate herself fully to her lifelong aspiration of being a devoted mother and homemaker.
Renee’s deep affection for shopping, capturing beautiful moments through photography, creating delicious meals and baking delightful treats truly reflected her warmth and passion. Engaging in these activities brought her immense joy. However, above all, she treasured the moments spent with her loving husband, cherished son and adored daughter-in-law. She also took great pleasure in watching her lively grand-puppy, Archie frolic with her playful puppy, Daisy.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Richard Fiorenzo, whom she married on Sept. 20, 1990; a son, Christopher Fiorenzo and his wife, Tara of Cortland; two sisters, Jennifer Workman and her husband, James of Charleston, W.Va., and Shandah Hart and her husband, Jennings of Hutchinson Island, Florida; and her nephew and niece, Justin and Jessica Workman.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
With the finality of her passing, cremation has taken place, and no services are planned as per Renee’s wishes.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
The Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles are handling arrangements.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Family and friends can visit www.josephrossifuneralhome.com to view this obituary and send condolences to Renee’s family.
