The Dallas Mavericks could be in the market for more depth after losing out on a potential reunion with Dorian Finney-Smith, who was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Mavs could add a Chicago Bulls All-Star or Indiana Pacers All-Star. If neither are options, a $45 million guard from the Toronto Raptors could make sense.
FanSided suggests that Dallas trades for Bruce Brown.
A trade proposal could send Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, Dante Exum, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, and their 2025 first-round draft pick to Toronto.
The Raptors would be taking on more salary for next season while Brown is set to be a free agent this summer, but throwing in a first-round pick could entice the Raptors to accept this trade.
Brown has experience playing with Kyrie Irving while they were with the Brooklyn Nets, as Brown thrived as a small ball center who defended multiple positions and converted a bunch of floaters given the space Irving, Kevin Durant, and James Harden provided for him.
The Miami product was also an instrumental part of the Denver Nuggets’ championship run in 2023 given his versatility.
Brown could match up very well against the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in a potential playoff series between the Mavs and Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Mavs’ first-round pick is almost certainly going to be in the deep part of this upcoming draft, and finding value that deep in the draft for a championship contender is rare.
Meanwhile, Brown has proven he can be a difference-maker on some of the best teams in the league, and his presence will help bolster the Mavs on both sides of the floor.
