REBEL ROUNDUP: Matsui (+4) finds herself in a tie for 29th through 36 holes. She is followed in the Rebel lineup by senior Toa Yokoyama (+5) in a tie for 38th, senior McKenzi Hall (+6) in a tie for 47th, freshman Amber Chen (+11) in a tie for 65th and freshman Caitlin Shippam (+20) in 78th.
DAY-ONE LEADERS: No. 1 Stanford, which shot an opening day 17-under, holds a one-shot lead over No. 3 Oregon (-16) in second. Their top players share the individual lead as the Cardinal’s Kelly Xu and Ducks’ Karen Tsuru posted 10-under scorecards on the day.
The Rebels (+26) will look to move up from their 12th-place position in the third round.
