Heading to Boston for Labor Day weekend? Turns out you’re not the only one.
The capital of Massachusetts is among the top 10 destinations in the U.S. for Labor Day travel, according to AAA booking data.
Other top Labor Day destinations include Orlando, New York, Las Vegas, Denver, Chicago and San Francisco.
Seattle is the No. 1 Labor Day weekend destination, with travel to the city being up nearly 30% from last year when it also topped the list, according to AAA.
While overall domestic travel over Labor Day weekend is up 9% compared to last year, the cost to travel domestically is down 2%, AAA reported.
The price of gas is also expected to be lower this Labor Day weekend in comparison to 2023. Last year the national average was $3.81 over the holiday weekend and this year it could hover around $3.50, according to AAA.
Meanwhile international travel of Labor Weekend is down 4% compared to last year, per AAA booking numbers.
The cost to travel internationally is up 11% and AAA found that most travelers are heading to Europe. In fact, eight out of the top ten international destinations booked through AAA are European cities.
