Marin Cilic vs Alex de Minaur Prediction
Veteran Marin Cilic played his first tournament in Doha last week since the start of November and the Croatian played well albeit in defeat to Carlos Alcaraz. It was an incredibly tough draw for somebody who has not played in so long and the draw has not been kind to him here in Dubai neither as he takes on Alex de Minaur in the first round.
De Minaur has been in really good form so far this year and the Australian is playing with plenty of confidence. Last week, he was eliminated in Qatar by Andrey Rublev who went on to win the tournament and he has lost to the eventual winner in all three tournaments he has played so far.
The pair have played four times previously and shared two wins apiece but those matches took place between 2018 and 2022. It is hard to see Cilic springing the upset here against De Minaur who is playing as well as anybody right now.
