The Wisconsin Lottery, in partnership with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and the Wisconsin Council on Problem Gambling (WCPG), is proud to participate in the Problem Gambling Awareness Month campaign.
Entering its 22nd year, the annual observance of Problem Gambling Month provides an essential platform for the Wisconsin Lottery to highlight the availability of resources that support problem gambling prevention, education, treatment, and recovery.
“Problem gambling deserves to be taken seriously,” said Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin. “Many Wisconsin residents can be impacted by the effects of problem gambling. We’re proud to support Rose and the WCPG as they provide resources, public awareness, and education on gambling disorders for those in need.”
“Every March, communities across the nation work to raise awareness around problem gambling,” said WCPG Executive Director Rose Blozinski. “Through our continued partnership with the Wisconsin Lottery, we can reach people statewide to let them know that help is available via phone, online chat, or text messaging.”
Working with more than 3,600 Wisconsin Lottery retailers across the state, the Wisconsin Lottery’s participation in Problem Gambling Awareness Month will include a multi-media campaign including:
In addition to the campaign, the Lottery has added new information to wilottery.com advocating for responsible gaming and listing support services for problem gambling. The web pages include several resources such as tips on how to play responsibly, links to problem gambling resources, and how to protect minors.
