STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAW) – In a matchup of teams coming off state berths, Columbus Catholic and Marathon boys basketball collided for a noteworthy matchup. Refreshed in a new year, Marathon ended things on top with a 66-54 win at home.
Meanwhile, day two of the Sentry Classic in Stevens Point began with Amherst girls taking on Almond-Bancroft. The Eagles soared to a commanding lead and finished ahead with a 50-23 victory.
Following them was Pacelli girls squaring off vs. Lomira. After an early lead, the Cardinals would fall victim of a comeback, with Lomira winning 63-47.
SPASH boys and girls teams took part of day two at the classic, as well. The girls team fell to Lakeland 62-55 while the boys team defeated Beaver Dam 64-56 in overtime.
