Multiple girls and boys basketball players from Arlington high-school squads were chosen to all-Liberty District teams for their regular-season performances during the 2024-25 campaign.
Selected to the girls first team were senior Frances Shapiro and sophomore Kathryn Wagner from the Washington-Liberty Generals and junior Eleanor Mahshie from the Yorktown Patriots.
Chosen to the second team were Wakefield Warriors‘ junior Dominique Harris, Yorktown senior Helene Lydon, W-L senior Julia Kelly and W-L junior Eve Jungman.
Honorable-mention selections were W-L senior Bella Menn, Yorktown sophomores Olivia Shiplett and Ainsley Lomas, and Wakefield junior Samantha Belvo.
Chosen to the all-district defensive team were Harris, Lomas and Shapiro.
Making the all-district rookie team were freshmen Molly Cooper (Yorktown), Anna Jungman (W-L) and Lucy Strawn (Wakefield).
Selected to the boys first team from Yorktown were seniors Jack Rubin and Brennan Pilot, junior Jake Coulam and, from Wakefield, junior Jeremiah Poole.
Making second team were Yorktown senior Austin Barbieri, Wakefield senior Shane Morrison and Washington-Liberty junior Carmichael Williams.
Honorable-mention selections were Wakefield senior Gabe Henneman and Washington-Liberty junior Gabe Smith.
Chosen to the all-defensive team were Rubin and Pilot.
The boys district Player of the Year was Coulam, with Pilot the Defensive Player of the Year. Yorktown’s Joe Keimig was the Coach of the Year.
