Man Utd have had an injury crisis recently but three players will be back in the squad against Everton this weekend.
Ruben Amorim will welcome three Manchester United players back to the matchday squad against Everton as the injury crsis at Old Trafford begins to ease.
Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte and Christian Eriksen will be back for the trip to Goodison Park, with Yoro and Eriksen overcoming illnesses and Ugarte shaking off a knock.
United will be without Amad and Lisandro Martinez for the rest of the season, while Kobbie Mainoo is set to miss around six weeks. Luke Shaw and Mason Mount are also long-term absentees.
Amorim was without a dozen first-team players for the trip to Tottenham last weekend and eight of the nine substitutes names had never played for the club before.
The head coach mentioned Eriksen’s heart condition post-match but said that had been a misunderstanding and that the Dane was fit to play and carry on for many years.
“We didn’t lose players [this week], we recover players. Chris, Manu and Leny return,” said Amorim. “With Chris was a misunderstanding, really clear on that, he’s healthy and he’s ready to play for many years at a high level. My limitations are explaining the injuries.
“I felt that the week is really good. I see things in trainings but sometimes it’s hard to pass that to the game, I feel they are improving, tomorrow is another opportunity to show a better performance.”
Asked when the asbent players will return, Amorim said Toby Collyer was the closest to returning to training.
“It’s hard to know,” he said. “Amad is for a long time. Mase continues to make his recovery, Luke as well, I don’t have a day. Toby seems to be the closest but not known. Kobbie recovery, I don’t know. We have to adapt to the schedule.”
Amorim will also be without both back-up goalkeepers as Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton remain on the sidelines with no timeframe set for a return to the first-team squad.
