Qatar Airways is aiming to raise the bar in business-class luxury and privacy with its Qsuite Next Gen product, which was unveiled at the Farnborough airshow in the UK this week.
The airline’s original Qsuite has consistently been recognised as the industry’s best business-class product, most recently winning the 2024 Best Business Class award from Skytrax. Qsuite was the first business class to feature sliding doors for enhanced privacy, in a move that has become almost standard for airlines worldwide.
The airline says it has again redefined luxury and innovation, elevating the industry benchmark for business class with its Qsuite Next Gen. The product’s new and enhanced features include fully customisable Quad Suites; Companion Suites in window aisles; manoeuvrable 4K OLED in-flight entertainment screens; and increased space and privacy.
The airline says it is aiming for a “mindful work-life balance” with the second-generation product. The redesigned Quad Suite features 4K OLED Panasonic Astrova IFE screens which can be moved out of the way in an industry first. Qatar says the screens can be repositioned to the side to create the largest social and productivity space in the sky, for up to four passengers in the Quad Suite and two passengers in the Companion Suite.
In the Quad Suite, there is increased space for passengers to dine together, while privacy has been improved through the use of taller, digitally controlled dividers. Passengers in the Quad Suite will also benefit from larger, lie-flat beds and a dedicated Make My Bed five-star turn-down service.
The new Companion Suite allows passengers in window suites to move partitions and monitors in order to face each other.
The airline says the enhanced product features a vast array of customisation options, including ambient lighting and privacy controls through an upgraded touchscreen passenger control unit.
Qsuite Next Gen is set for launch on Qatar’s new Boeing 777-9 aircraft, which the airline says are now scheduled for delivery from 2025 after lengthy delays with the aircraft program. Many in the industry expect a further delivery delay into 2026 is more likely, however.
“We are excited to have finally revealed the long-awaited Qsuite Next Gen at the Farnborough International Airshow. Qatar Airways has once again raised the bar for its award-winning product, the Qsuite,” Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, said when unveiling the new product.
