We’re less than two weeks away from the release of Madden NFL 25, which has taken a decided back seat this year compared to the recently released EA Sports College Football 25.
As is tradition at this point, EA Sports (in conjunction with ESPN) released its top 15 rated players for every position on offense and defense, once again ignoring kickers and punters even though their ratings are out, too.
The Seattle Seahawks are nowhere to be found in the top 10 on defense, and only one player was ranked that high on offense. Unsurprisingly, it’s running back Kenneth Walker III, whose 88 rating puts him at 9th. Speed is his best attribute, with agility not too far behind. San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey is number one, and Joe Mixon is 5th. I wouldn’t take Mixon over Walker in real life or in a video game.
The other Seahawk with a high ranking at his position is none other than punter Michael Dickson. Evidently he’s been denied the 99 rating he deserves, and will have to settle for 8th among his peers and an 80 rating, His speed is 78, so keep that in mind if you do any fakes.
As for some of the other positions…
Geno Smith is bang in the middle of the quarterback ratings at 17th, behind Baker Mayfield and ahead of Kyler Murray. Russell Wilson has dipped to 21st.
Tyler Lockett is Seattle’s highest rated receiver at 18th (an 88 rating), several spots above DK Metcalf (86 rating). Metcalf is rated behind Mike Williams, which is good comedy.
There’s no respect for Noah Fant at tight end, as he has just a 75 rating and isn’t even in the top 25. You know damn well who’s No. 1.
Riq Woolen is rated above Devon Witherspoon among Seahawks corners, but neither of them is in the top 20. Sauce Gardner has top spot.
Charles Cross is 20th among left tackles, Abe Lucas is 20th among right tackles, and that’s about as good as it gets for the Seahawks offensive line.
Leonard Williams is listed as a right defensive end, and he’s listed at 14th among RDEs.
Boye Mafe is the highest-rated Seahawks outside linebacker but isn’t anywhere near the top-15, let alone top 10.
Lastly, kicker Jason Myers is a modest 23rd.
Keep in mind that these ratings are updated during the season. Apparently there’s a Ratings Hotline you can call if you’re #madonline about these rankings. Check out the full ratings in the link below.
