Alex Lynn led a 1-2 for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA in the second FIA World Endurance Championship Prologue session, which took place under the lights at the Lusail International Circuit.
The British driver steered the No. 12 Cadillac V-Series.R to a best lap of 1:39.575 during the four-hour session held on Friday evening, 0.213 seconds faster than stablemate Sebastien Bourdais aboard the sister No. 38 machine.
Lynn’s time also compared strongly to the 1:41.673 that Robert Kubica set to lead the opening session earlier in the day.
Antonio Fuoco was third aboard the No. 50 AF Corse Ferrari 499P, with the No. 5 Porsche 963 fourth in the hands of Julien Andlauer.
Kubica, meanwhile, rounded out the top five at the wheel of the No. 83 Ferrari, ahead of the No. 51 car piloted by Antonio Giovinazzi.
Kevin Estre slotted into seventh aboard the No. 6 Porsche, with the car returning to the track after Porsche Penske Motorsport completed a precautionary engine change after issues during the first session.
The No. 8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid was eighth, with the pair of Peugeot 9X8s rounding out the top ten with Jean-Eric Vergne and Stoffel Vandoorne at the wheel.
Akkodis ASP Team continued to lead in LMGT3, with Jose Maria Lopez putting a 1:54.959 on the board behind the wheel of the No. 87 Lexus RC F GT3.
Daniel Juncadella was 0.173 seconds slower in the No. 33 TF Sport Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, with the two Vista AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 driven by Alessio Rovera and Davide Rigon, respectively.
The No. 78 Lexus completed the top five with Ben Barnicoat at the wheel, 0.216 seconds off the best time set by stablemate Lopez.
No notable incidents took place across the four hours of running.
The No. 77 Proton Competition Ford Mustang GT3 also did not take part after it caught fire during the first session.
Prologue running continues with the third session on Saturday, which is three hours long and starts at 12:00 p.m. local time (4 a.m. ET).
