LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – With Texas Tech’s first football game of the season and Labor Day weekend both taking this place this weekend, there will be an increase in traffic flow and crowded streets.
The Lubbock Police Department gave some tips and offered some reminders to help manage the anticipated traffic.
Lieutenant Brady Cross advised drivers to expect delays and plan for extra travel time. Pedestrians are encouraged to use crosswalks and pedestrian bridges to ensure their safety.
“We encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, to have a plan, to have a ride, to have something set up, to know how you’re going to get home from where you are, whether that’s calling a friend, calling a family member, or using rideshare like Uber or Lyft. Just have a plan and be responsible. “
