As fully expected, Low and Fast was euthanized at Los Alamitos Sunday after taking a “bad step past the wire” and being ambulanced off (this combination of words almost always translates to dead). He was three, and this was his 12th time under the whip. The responsible: Ed Allred, Jose Flores, Irving Lara, and all who support this industry in any way (betting, attending, watching). This is kill 6 at Los Alamitos in 2025.
From the stewards at Turfway: All Jokes Aside “was injured in the starting gate” Feb 14, “and was a late scratch.” A week later, the same for Equal Force, injured in gate, scratched. (It would have been the 2-year-old Equal Force’s very first time under the whip.)
