Here’s how you’re going to be spending your winter:
Quick Thoughts:
—The first month and-a-half of this schedule is outrageous and a throwback to the Denny Crum era (and a time where we played in a conference below the ACC). You could easily be facing seven at-large caliber NCAA tournament teams in your first 11 games. That’s nuts.
—Playing just two home games in the month of February? Also outrageous.
—I love that we get both Duke and North Carolina at home, but getting them on Dec. 8 and Jan. 1, respectively, is going to feel a bit unsatisfying.
—Imagine a world where we play in the ACC football championship on Dec. 7, host Duke a day later, and then play Kentucky six days after that. Christmas could either be made or ruined a full 11 days before we even get to the holiday.
—For a second straight season we get three March home games to wrap up the regular season. Cool. Weird, but cool.
—The battle of the CardinalS replacing Virginia for Senior Day is a change I’m not going to complain about.
—I am fully in football mode at the moment, but man, this is going to be fun.
