SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – The Louisiana Travel Association’s summit started off Tuesday (Aug. 27) in Shreveport.
The opening reception began at 6 p.m. at Sci-Port Discovery Center. On Wednesday at 8 a.m., there will be the lieutenant governor’s breakfast at the Shreveport Convention Center.
KSLA spoke with Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser ahead of Wednesday’s keynote address. He said he plans to include and call on each of his department heads.
“So I want the team of partners from around the state to hear from our team, the people, boots on the ground who do the work,” Nungesser said. “Rather than me stand up there and brag and take credit for a lot of stuff, this year is going to be a little different. It’s going to be all about the people, the team that makes tourism work in Louisiana.”
The lieutenant governor also said when he got elected, he gave north Louisiana his word the area would not be left out again as long as he’s in the position.
