ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC) – Local law enforcement officers will be spreading extra cheer for the 21st annual Shop with a Cop.
65 kids from local schools were selected to take part this year.
Each child will receive a $120 Walmart gift card and paired with a Rochester police officer, Olmsted County deputy or state trooper.
The pair will then set out through the store to buy presents for both the child and their family members for the holidays.
The child-officer duo will then have lunch after gift shopping.
Volunteers will be on standby to help giftwrap the items purchased by each group.
“Shop with a Cop” continues to help build positive relationships between law enforcement and youths in the community.
The event begins at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Walmart North in Rochester.
