JOHNSON CITY, NY (WBNG) — Before the ball drops, it might be time to start thinking about your New Year’s resolutions.
One common topic is fitness.
“It takes 40 days to create a new habit,” said the owner of Yoga Body Shops Linda Sambursky. “Just keep at it and keep coming with no matter what you do.”
Sambursky has owned Yoga Body Shop in Johnson City for 12 years. She said the busiest time of the year is always January. Sambursky added yoga can be a great way to start your New Year’s resolution.
“It’s a good intention to have to start the New Year making a change,” Sambursky said. “Not just your physical strength and losing weight and getting healthy physically but it’s way more than that, it’s working on your whole self.”
Austin Kahabka and his wife took over ownership at Superior 24/7 Fitness in Endwell 12 weeks ago. Austin has a background in fitness and health care as a bodybuilder. He says he cannot wait to educate people about staying in shape.
“It ignites my fire getting people excited to come to the gym because I know the thought of coming to the gym sometimes is a little daunting,” Kahabka said.
The 24/7 gym will be offering a New Year discount for anyone interested in joining.
