Signing Completes Stinger’s Four-Man Roster for the LIV Golf 2025 Season
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Stinger GC today announced that South African golf star Branden Grace will rejoin the team for the 2025 LIV Golf League season. Under a newly signed two-year contract, Grace returns alongside Stinger GC Captain and former Open champion Louis Oosthuizen, 2011 Masters winner Charl Schwartzel, and 2024 LIV Miami title holder Dean Burmester on the finalized 2025 team roster.
Grace’s return follows a standout performance at the LIV Golf Promotions event in December, where he secured an impressive runner-up finish, narrowly missing automatic qualification for the 2025 LIV Golf League season.
Despite Stinger GC’s fifth-place finish in the 2024 Dallas Team Championship Event, Grace faced uncertainty for the upcoming season after his contract expired and he fell into the standings drop zone. By re-signing Grace, Stinger GC reinforces its commitment to cultivating top-tier South African talent and fortifying its roster for the 2025 campaign.
“I am delighted to be back with Stinger GC. 2024 was a challenging year for me – I was playing with a wrist injury during the early part of the season and struggled to gain any momentum from there. My form improved during the later stages of the campaign and my game is tracking in the right direction. I feel confident that I can carry that through into 2025,” said Branden Grace.
Grace, a key member of Stinger GC since its inception, has enjoyed significant historical success in the LIV Golf League, finishing second in the individual standings in 2022 and ninth in 2023. He also captured an individual at the first LIV Golf event in the United States in 2022, the LIV Golf Invitational in Portland.
“We’re thrilled to have Branden back with Stinger GC,” added Team Captain Louis Oosthuizen. “He is an integral part of our team, both on and off the course. While 2024 was a tough year for him, we must not overlook his consistent performances in the two previous seasons. His return was also supported by a strong business case. We are looking to grow the Stinger GC brand and commercial presence in South Africa, and his profile and popularity, in the country, will help us to achieve that.”
Branden Grace’s past accomplishments, status as one of his country’s leading golfers, and the team’s focus on growing its reach in South Africa were key factors in the decision to offer the 36-year-old a new contract.
“Louis, Charl, Dean and I have a special bond, and it has been a great experience to be part of Stinger GC. The team has some big plans for 2025 and beyond and I am excited to be part of that,” concluded Grace.
Stinger GC will tee off their 2025 season at the LIV Golf Riyadh event from Feb. 6-8.
