Holidays on the Hills

Enjoy the holiday cheer of Chestnut Hill with a brass quartet, view an outdoor model train display at Morris Arboretum and take advantage of late-night shopping hours on Wednesdays. Every year, Christmas Village transforms LOVE Park into a traditional, open-air German Christmas Market. Vendors will set up shop during the Holiday season to sell a wide variety of holiday gifts, ornaments, jewelry and high-quality arts and crafts.

Celebrate and support local businesses this Small Business Saturday in Old City! On Saturday, November 30, enjoy exclusive discounts and deals at participating stores throughout the neighborhood. Look for the balloons to find shops offering special promotions and be one of the first 25 customers at select locations to receive a free Old City tote bag (while supplies last).

Northern Liberties Tree Lighting

Join the Northern Liberties Business Improvement District for a neighborhood tree lighting! Enjoy music, a visit from Santa, vendors, light refreshments and many other surprises all ending with a tree lighting ceremony.

Roxborough Pop-Up Market

Join Roxborough Development Corporation for the festivities kick off on Friday, December 6th with a tree lighting, live music, and hot beverages in the Roxborough Pocket Park (6170 Ridge Avenue). Revelers will return to Ridge Avenue from 12-6 PM on Saturday, December 7th, for more holiday fun. Stop by our pop-up Holiday Markets, make your own s’mores, and enjoy warm drinks from New Ridge Brewing Co.

Mount Airy Decemberfest

Join Mount Airy Community Development Corporation for a makers’ market in Lovett Park, with food & drink, live music, and a visit from Black Santa. Shops throughout the neighborhood will be open offering festive cheer along with many gift items that are handmade right here in Mount Airy.

Open Streets: West Walnut

Center City District (CCD), with support from Rittenhouse Row and the City of Philadelphia, plans to transform one of Philadelphia’s most popular shopping and dining destinations, 18th Street from Locust to Chestnut and Walnut Street from 15th to 19th, by temporarily closing streets to vehicular traffic. During these closures, pedestrians will be invited to stroll nearly seven blocks of car-free space while enjoying shopping, dining and activities for all ages. CCD will provide ambient entertainment, including acoustic musicians, holiday carolers, and more.

Hunting Park Christmas in the Barrio

Join Esperanza Arts Center for an evening of Christmas caroling, traditional Latino music and dance, festive food, face-painting, and fun activities for the entire family. Christmas in the Barrio, a North Philly tradition, is an annual Christmas celebration at Teatro Esperanza.

Don’t forget to visit the Greater Olney Library to get food from local businesses, do fun holiday activities and make sure you take a ride on our Christmas trolley through Olney.
