LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – November and December may be advertised as the happiest times of the year, but they’re also critical months for most businesses, as they can account for upwards of a quarter of the retailer’s annual revenue.
“Anywhere that has an employee, we can help you,” said Laura Mobley Corn, owner of Express Employment Professionals.
The job search engine Indeed is reporting that the demand for seasonal work has returned to 2019 levels. Their data shows that searches for holiday jobs, as a share of total job seeker activity, are 18% higher than this same time last year.
“If a company finds themselves in need of additional employees, or for something that’s seasonal, we have that database at our fingertips. We can mass text a lot of people at once that are looking for work.”
Laura Mobley Corn said seasonal hiring is one place where Express Employment Professionals really excels. Her team matches employers with ready-to-go applicants from their database of 5,000 people.
“We’ve already done all their application process, so we can jump very quickly in filling those positions for a seasonal position or a lot of people at once.”
According to Indeed, there’s one sector that has really gotten into the holiday spirit and that’s retail. The retail sector accounted for 66% of all seasonal postings this year.
“Retail, logistics. Anybody who’s moving products for the holidays.”
And the demand for holiday work and holiday hires isn’t expected to lessen until February.
“If you need an employee or you need a job, we’re here for you.”
The team at Express Employment works year round to connect people with jobs that are the best fit for them, and the employer.
