LeBron James just surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leader in regular-season minutes played.

James now has 57,471 minutes played following the 34 minutes he played on Thursday (Dec. 19)’s Lakers vs Sacramento match.

Abdul-Jabaar’s record of 57,446 minutes was previously set when he retired after the NBA’s 1988-1989 season.

Speaking to reporters about the achievement, James joked that although his coach congratulated him, his teammates called him “old as hell.”

“I just set the all-time-leading in minutes, I am not thinking about this next game yet,” James said to reporters when asked about today’s NBA game. “I’m about to get to this [hotel] room, drink some wine, play some Madden and chill the fuck out.”

James’ latest achievement comes on the heels of him opening up about the fact that the end of his career is approaching.

Following a Lakers victory over the Memphis Grizzlies last month, James explained to reporters that he’s “not going to play that much longer.”

“I’m not going to play that much longer, to be completely honest,” he said. “I don’t know how many years that is. If it’s one year or two years, whatever the case may be.”

“I said the other night, I’m not playing until the wheels fall off. I’m not going to be that guy,” he continued. “I’m not going to be the guy who is disrespecting the game because I just wanted to be out on the floor. That won’t be me.”
