Effingham, IL-(Effingham Radio)- You can electronically submit your renewal application online at effinghamil.com/renew-a-golf-cart-permit/ prior to September 27th to avoid longer wait times. You may also email us at EPD@EffinghamIL.com or drop off your renewal application and waiver as well as copies of your current insurance policy and driver’s license to Effingham Police Department at 110 S. 3rd St. to pre-register.
A renewal application may only be used if the golf cart has already been registered with Effingham Police Department the prior year and still has all required safety features installed. A safety inspection for the golf cart is NOT required under the renewal application process.
If you are submitting your renewal application before September 27th, you will need to bring a check, money order, or cash for the permit fee to Effingham Police Department on or after September 27th during the hours of 7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, to receive your sticker.
Your permit will be valid once full payment is made in person on or after September 27th and you have received your new sticker from us.
