Hello and welcome to our live coverage of today’s NBA opening day matchup between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
The Lakers are coming off a 47-35 season, advancing through the play-in before losing to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. Los Angeles did not make a lot of structural changes to the roster, instead they hired a new coach in JJ Reddick to lead this squad forward.
The Timberwolves had an excellent season last year, going 56-26 and making a run to the Western Conference Finals before falling to the Dallas Mavericks in five games. Unlike the Lakers, Minnesota made a significant roster change by trading Karl-Anthony Towns to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo.
