The Los Angeles Lakers are making some fringe personnel moves with the start of training camp looming.
Ahead of training camp’s official tip-off, the Los Angeles Lakers have officially announced the signing of seasoned veteran NBA guard Jordan Goodwin, per an official team press statement.

The 6-foot-4 vet has previously suited up for the Washington Wizards, Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies through his three seasons of NBA action.
Exact terms of the agreement have yet to be disclosed, but since the Lakers have all 15 of their standard roster spots filled, as well as all three of their two-way contract openings, it is highly likely this is a non-guaranteed training camp contract with Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 language.
Los Angeles now returns to a 21-man training camp roster (maximum allowed) after it signed and cut former 2023-24 two-way forward Alex Fudge earlier today. Los Angeles Lakers All-NBA stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis headline the club’s 15-man standard roster. Point guard D’Angelo Russell, shooting guard Austin Reaves, and forward Rui Hachimura comprise head coach JJ Redick’s other expected starters.
Point guard Gabe Vincent, forward Jarred Vanderbilt, rookie shooting guard Dalton Knecht, power forward/center Christian Wood and newly re-signed shooting guard Maxwell Lewis seem likely to be Redick’s first five off the bench. Small forward Cam Reddish, center Jaxson Hayes, point guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, forward Maxwell Lewis and rookie point guard Bronny James round out the standard roster.
Forwards Armel Traore and Blake Hinson and center Colin Castleton are the Lakers’ three two-way signings heading into the 2024-25 season.
Undrafted rookie guard Quincy Olivari out of Xavier and undrafted first-year center/power forward Kylor Kelly out of Oregon State are the Lakers’ other confirmed Exhibit 10 training camp signings.
Goodwin was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 First Team and All-Defensive Team honoree at Saint Louis University from 2017-21. During that 2020-21 senior season, he suited up for 21 contests, logging averages of 14.5 points, 10.1 boards, 3.9 dimes and 2.0 swipes across 33.1 minutes a night.
The 6-foot-3 guard has appeared in 121 regular season contests from 2021-24 (19 starts), averaging 6.4 points on .405/.308/.758 shooting splits, 3.8 boards, 2.7 dimes and 0.9 steals a night.
In 35 contests with the Wizards’ G League squad the Capital City Go-Go from 2021-23, across two seasons, Goodwin averaged 16.4 points on a .408/.298/.788 slash line, 6.2 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.9 steals per game.
