The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards shared what it was like wedding dress shopping with her daughter Alexia Umansky. She called it both emotional and “embarrassing.”
While preparing for Alexia’s upcoming nuptials to Jake Zingerman, Kyle dissolved into tears at the sight of her baby girl in a wedding gown. It’s a milestone moment, and I don’t think anyone would blame her for her reaction.
During a February 2025 Amazon Live, Kyle confessed that she burst into tears while wedding shopping with Alexia in NYC.
“I didn’t think I was going to be this person,” she admitted. “But the first dress she came out in, I started crying. Such a cliché. Oh my gosh, so embarrassing.”
“It’s like that scene in Father of the Bride when the little girl says to her dad, ‘I’m getting married,’” she continued. “All of sudden he looks, and it’s a 5-year-old talking … It just makes you realize how fast time flies … But it was really fun looking at wedding dresses, and she is so excited.”
In the February 4 episode of the RHOBH After Show, Kyle shared that Alexia and Jake will marry on September 6 in Aspen, Colorado. The Umansky family has a vacation home there, so it holds a special place in their hearts.
The mom of four has been involved in the wedding planning from the beginning. “[Jake] asked my permission,” Kyle told Parade in December 2024. “And then he had me help him through the process of picking the ring … I went with him to many different places to look, and it was just so sweet that he included me.”
Together she and Jake picked an emerald-cut diamond engraved with the word “Sweetheart” and a small heart inside. Nice.
As for the wedding planning itself, her daughter has everything under control. “Alexia is very hands-on,” Kyle said. “She knows exactly what she wants … I’m just saying, ‘Love it! Perfect!’ She has a very clear vision of what she wants and, basically, we just have to pay for it.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
