Working back from his second-place finish last month in the Grade
3 Lecomte, Kentucky Derby 2025 hopeful Built returned to the work tab Sunday
morning at Fair Grounds.
The Hard Spun colt owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners and
trained by Wayne Catalano breezed a half-mile in 47.8 seconds on the fast main
track in New Orleans.
Built carried 28-1 odds Sunday in the Caesars Sportsbook
Nevada futures market for Kentucky Derby 2025. His December win in the Gun Runner
Stakes at Fair Grounds and his Lecomte runner-up have earned him 20 points to
rank him seventh in Derby qualifying.
Catalano told Horse Racing Nation on Sunday he was not sure of where Built would start next, but he added that this month’s Risen Star (G2) “is not out of the question.”
