HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – After one season of leading the Cabell Midland Knights football team, John Ashworth is leaving the program. He told WSAZ Sports in a Monday text “I am pursuing other things outside of football. I appreciate all of the hard work the players and coaches put in this season. I wish them well in all future endeavors.”
Last season, Cabell Midland went 5-6 and lost in the first round of the WVSSAC playoffs to Jefferson. It was a streaky season for the Knights where they lost their first five games then won the next five.
