The Knicks take on an injury-riddled 76ers team coming off a back-to-back losses in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
It’s been a disastrous season for the Sixers.
After recovering from a dreadful start in December, things have taken a turn for the worst in January for Philly, losing six of eight after Tuesday’s 118-102 setback against the West-leadingThunder.
Injuries have cropped up once again for former MVP Joel Embiid, who has missed each of the Sixers’ last five games with a left foot sprain.
Tyrese Maxey, who showed up on the injury report Tuesday night with a hand sprain, and Paul George, who has played in just 27 games this season, are also banged up, culminating in a much easier matchup for the Knicks than one would’ve thought months ago.

The Sixers haven’t only been disappointing in the standings, sitting at 15-23, which has them out of the Eastern Conference playoff picture if the season ended today.
Their troubles are even worse than that – Philly’s 13-24-1 record against the spread is the worst in the NBA, meaning they’ve fallen short of oddsmakers’ expectations even when accounting for all the injuries.
Put all three of their stars on the court and I still like the fully healthy Knicks with an extra day of rest with the way the Sixers are playing.
The Knicks haven’t been playing great as of late, losing five of their last seven games after a nine-game winning streak.
But that just means we may be getting a bit of a discount on the spread.
Bet the Knicks to take care of the Sixers relatively easily – no matter who takes the floor for Philly at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday night.
The play: Knicks spread -6 (-110, Caesars)
