Week 11 of the college football season was filled with multiple big-time wins across the country. Upsets were the story of the weekend, as College Football Playoff contenders suffered defeats on Saturday.

To celebrate, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit decided to recognize a few programs for their displays over the weekend. He named seven top-performing teams from Week 11 of the 2024 season, all but one of which come from power conferences.

This game against Georgia was circled on Ole Miss’ calendar for a long time, dating back to last season’s matchup in Athens. Kiffin highlighted that defeat as to why the Rebels were falling behind in the college football world.

A statement was certainly made, arguably being the biggest win in Ole Miss history. They are now right back in the middle of the CFP race following a dominant performance.

Georgia Tech has now beaten Miami in two consecutive seasons, both being national stories for different reasons. It’s hard to forget the Hurricanes not taking a knee to run out the clock before a last-second win for Brent Key‘s team in Coral Gables.

This go-round was due to Miami being undefeated and in the midst of a historic season for Mario Cristobal. No longer, as Georgia Tech gets its sixth win, gains bowl eligibility, and shakes up the CFP race.

Herbstreit was calling Alabama-LSU from Baton Rouge and did not provide a pick. But Nick Saban was the only one to pick the Crimson Tide, citing his relationship with players currently on the team.

So, nobody truly saw what eventually took place in Tiger Stadium, a blowout win for Alabama. Kalen DeBoer answered a lot of doubters coming off the bye week to keep the season alive.

Kansas has not had the type of season they had hoped for. Expectations were to compete for a Big 12 Championship, potentially being another step forward. Even so, a massive win took place on Saturday against Iowa State.

A massive halftime lead was just enough to hold on against a comeback. Both Jalon Daniels and Devin Neal shined, combining for five total touchdowns.

Texas Tech was fresh off a win against previously undefeated Iowa State, heading home to Lubbock for the massive Colorado showdown. Big Noon Kickoff was in town for the occasion too, making it a massive spot.

Colorado responded impressively, ranking No. 5 on the week for Herbstreit. Deion Sanders has seen his team win three straight and finds himself in a Big 12 Championship race.

A seven-game losing streak was snapped on Saturday in Colorado Springs. Air Force took down Fresno State thanks to a classic triple-option offense-controlled game.

Fresno State finished with -5 rushing yards on 12 attempts, a truly impressive number for the Falcons’ defense. On the flip, their offense ran for 344 yards and was in possession of the ball for over 45 minutes.

Pitt was more than alive in the ACC despite a loss the week prior. Virginia may have ended their chance though, earning the program’s first win since Oct. 5.

A great defensive performance was the story from UVA, giving up under 300 total yards. Corey Thomas Jr. sealed things with an interception in the final two minutes of the game, a big one for the Cavaliers.
