Grade 2-winning 3-year-old Journalism and fellow sophomores
Bullard and Madaket Road, both of whom were entered Sunday for next weekend’s
Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn, were among seven Kentucky Derby 2025 futures horses to record timed workouts Sunday.

Journalism and Bullard are trained by Michael McCarthy.
Journalism, who won the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) in December, worked five
furlongs in 1:00.8. The Curlin colt is expected to make his seasonal bow in the
San Felipe (G2) on March 1 going 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita. Grade 3 winner
Bullard, most recently third in the San Vicente (G2) going seven furlongs Jan.
4 at Santa Anita, went five furlongs in 1:00.6. The Gun Runner colt was among
14 entered in the Rebel.

Madaket Road was joined on the work tab by 3-year-old
stablemate Romanesque for trainer Bob Baffert. By Quality Road, Madaket Road
worked six furlongs in a bullet 1:12.0. He exits a third in the Robert B. Lewis
(G3) on Feb. 1 at Santa Anita. Romanesque, who was second to stablemate Barnes
in the San Vicente, drilled five furlongs from the gate in 1:00.2.

Chancer McPatrick (McKinzie), a two-time Grade 1
winner (2024 Champagne, 2024 Hopeful), worked four furlongs in 49.8 seconds at
Payson Park on Sunday morning. It was the 31st fastest of 47 works at the
distance. His previous work was seven days ago going four furlongs at Payson
Park. In his last start he placed sixth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile going 1
1/16 miles on the main track at Del Mar on Nov. 1 for trainer Chad Brown.

Journalism (Curlin), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Los
Alamitos Futurity), worked five furlongs in 1:00.8 at Santa Anita on Sunday
morning. It was the 32nd fastest of 74 works at the distance. His previous work
was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he won
the Los Alamitos Futurity (G2) going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Los
Alamitos on Dec. 14 for trainer Michael McCarthy.

Bullard (Gun Runner), a Grade 3 winner (2024 Bob
Hope), worked five furlongs in 1:00.6 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was
the 23rd fastest of 74 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days
ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed third in
the San Vicente (G2) going seven furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on
Jan. 4 for McCarthy.

Cornucopian (Into Mischief) worked five furlongs in 1:00.2 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 74 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Santa Anita. He is unraced for trainer Bob Baffert.

in 1:00.2 at Santa Anita on Sunday morning. It was the 13th fastest of 74 works
at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going five furlongs at
Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in the San Vicente (G2) going
seven furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on Jan. 4 for Baffert.

Chief Liam (Violence) worked four furlongs in
50.0 seconds at Oaklawn on Sunday morning. It was the 39th fastest of 70 works
at the distance. His previous work was eight days ago going four furlongs at
Oaklawn. In his last start he won a maiden race going one mile on the main
track at Oaklawn on Jan. 4 for trainer Kenny McPeek.

First Division (Omaha Beach) worked four
furlongs in 50.0 seconds at Oaklawn on Sunday morning. It was the 39th fastest
of 70 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In
his last start he placed third in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the
main track at Oaklawn on Feb. 7 for McPeek.
