First Resort tuned up for his 2025 debut with a four-furlong work at Turfway Park on Tuesday morning for trainer Eoin Harty.
The Uncle Mo colt breezed the half-mile in 51.2 seconds, seventh fastest of 10th at the distance.
First Resort is entered in Saturday’s John Battaglia Memorial, which offers 20-10-6-4-2 qualifying points for Kentucky Derby 2025.
In his most recent start, First Resort won the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club to earn 10 Derby points. It was his second win in four career starts, which came at four tracks. He was listed at odds of 60-1 in Las Vegas Derby futures this week.
Eight days ago, he breezed five furlongs in a bullet 59.4 seconds, and a week before that, he went six furlongs in 1:14.0.
Two other colts in Las Vegas futures worked Tuesday.
Curvino (Vino Rosso) worked three furlongs in 37.4 seconds at Oaklawn on Tuesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 14 works at the distance. His previous work was five days ago going five furlongs at Oaklawn. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on Jan. 26 for trainer Peter Miller.
McDude (McKinzie) worked four furlongs in 48.4 seconds at Oaklawn on Tuesday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 98 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on Feb. 7 for trainer John Ortiz.
