Poster, winner of the Grade 2 Remsen last year, worked Monday for the first time since his third-place finish in the Sam F. Davis Stakes on Feb. 8 at Tampa Bay Downs. The Eoin Harty trainee worked five furlongs in 1:02.4 over the Tapeta at Turfway.
In the Sam. F. Davis, he rallied to finish third behind John Hancock. It was the first defeat of his career but still earned him six more points on the Kentucky Derby leaderboard, where he is at no. 16 with 16 total points.
As of Feb. 16, Poster was 55-1 in the Kentucky Derby futures book at Caesars in Las Vegas. In the fourth Kentucky Derby Future Wager pool through Churchill Downs, which closed the same day, Poster was 70-1.

McAfee (Cloud Computing) worked four furlongs in 48.7 seconds at Belmont Park on Monday morning. It was the fourth fastest of 44 works at the distance. His previous work was 17 days ago going four furlongs at Belmont Park. In his last start he placed second in a starter allowance race going one mile on the main track at Churchill Downs on Nov. 24 for trainer Rick Dutrow.
McDude (McKinzie) worked four furlongs in 48.6 seconds at Oaklawn on Monday morning. It was the 30th fastest of 110 works at the distance. His previous work was six days ago going four furlongs at Oaklawn. In his last start he placed second in an allowance race going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Oaklawn on Feb. 7 for trainer John Ortiz.
Modus Bestia (Maclean’s Music) worked five furlongs in 59.6 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the sixth fastest of 47 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in a maiden race going 6 1/2 furlongs on the main track at Santa Anita on Jan. 25 for trainer Richard Baltas.
Poster (Munnings), a Grade 2 winner (2024 Remsen), worked five furlongs in 1:02.4 at Turfway Park on Monday morning. It was the seventh fastest of 13 works at the distance. This was his first work since his last race. In his last start he placed third in the Sam F. Davis going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Tampa Bay Downs on Feb. 8 for trainer Eoin Harty.
Shea Brennan (Tough Sunday) worked four furlongs in 49.4 seconds at Santa Anita on Monday morning. It was the 39th fastest of 52 works at the distance. His previous work was seven days ago going five furlongs at Santa Anita. In his last start he placed second in the Cal Cup Derby going 1 1/16 miles on the main track at Santa Anita on Jan. 18 for trainer Phil D’Amato.
