Kentucky Derby standings after 18 points preps

Citizen Bull secured a spot in the starting gate for Kentucky Derby 2025 and padded his lead in the points standings with Saturday’s win in the Robert B. Lewis (G3) at Santa Anita.
The 2024 2-year-old champion, trained by Bob Baffert, now has 60 points and is the only millionaire on the leaderboard. Speed King, winner of the Southwest (G3) on Jan. 25, is a distant second with 25 points.
The winners of Saturday’s other Derby preps, Burnham Square in the Holy Bull (G3) and Captain Cook in the Withers, joined the leaderboard with 20 points each, butting them in fourth and sixth place, respectively.
The Sam F. Davis at Tampa Bay Downs is the only Derby points race is on the schedule for this weekend, with 20-10-6-4-2 points available to the top five finishers.
The following weekend brings us the Risen Star (G2) at Fair Grounds, the first race to offer 50 points to the winner. Also next weekend is the Sunland Derby at Sunland Park, with 20 points going to the winner.
