The second edition of the east-southeast division of the Kentucky Derby 2025 scouting report adds 12 horses to the list, including the winners of the Jerome and the Grade 3 Lecomte.
Iowa-bred Cyclone State won the Jerome at Aqueduct on Jan. 4 with an impressive front-end effort going the one-turn mile. Last weekend Disco Time stayed undefeated in three starts when he rallied from far back to win the Lecomte by a neck on a sloppy track at Fair Grounds.
Of the 25 horses listed in this report, trainer Todd Pletcher has five and Chad Brown and Brad Cox have three each.
The east-southeast covers Derby prep races that are run in New York, Florida, Virginia and Louisiana. That means stakes at Aqueduct, Gulfstream Park, Tampa Bay Downs, Colonial Downs and Fair Grounds.
The following alphabetical list shows each horse with his odds at Caesars Sportsbook in Nevada and Kentucky Derby Future Wager odds from pool 3, sire, trainer, ownership, most recent race, overall record and earnings. Along with any Derby qualifying points earned and a summary comment.
