SEATTLE — Kentucky basketball fifth-year senior guard Lamont Butler won’t play in Saturday night’s top-10 tilt versus Gonzaga at Climate Pledge Arena.
During pregame warmups, Butler was not dressed in his Wildcats uniform.
The starting point guard for each of UK’s first eight games, Butler took a tumble in the second half of Tuesday’s loss at Clemson. During a media availability Thursday, Kentucky coach Mark Pope was uncertain whether Butler would be cleared to play Saturday.
Butler is averaging a team-best 3.9 assists to go along with 12.9 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 22 minutes per game this season.
