Kansas basketball put up a strong fight but couldn’t overcome 20 turnovers on Monday night as it fell at No. 3 Houston, 65-59. The loss drops the Jayhawks to 20-10 overall while the Cougars improve to 26-4 overall and 18-1 in Big 12 play.
The loss is the latest in what has been a frustrating year for Kansas basketball. Picked as the preseason No. 1 or 2 team in the country by several outlets and college basketball analysts, Kansas has been a major disappointment.
That was part of the tone on social media Monday night after the latest Kansas loss, that perhaps only furthered the changing of the guard feelings across the Big 12.

The Houston formula is always to get more shots by creating turnovers and gobbling up offensive rebounds. Kelvin Sampson just said it to SVP, the key was 26 more field-goal attempts tonight for the Coogs.

This team just didn’t gel. I don’t think any specific guy is the root cause of our issues. The pieces just didn’t fit right with each other and our flaws have been exposed A LOT this year

Kansas: Bill Self’s talent assessment and game decisions have been poor for 2 plus seasons.
Year over year of high turnovers, out rebounded and no perimeter defense . How many more years?
I will not be re investing my $ into this team going forward – # season ticket holder

Kansas keeps falling apart at the end of games. Surprising coming from a Bill Self coached team.

Kansas just competed with the best defense on the road and nearly won, shooting 26 less shots.
Say what you want about Kansas, but I would not want to see this team come March.#CollegeBasketball #Kansas #Big12MBB https://t.co/5YL674cehG

Softest team I’ve ever seen on the court for Kansas. For my entire life KU basketball has been about toughness and elite guard play. I’m sure these guys are checking their DMs and crying in the locker room. It’s pathetic. Bill has been just as bad too.

Kansas is one loss away from failing to get a winning conference record for the first time since Roy Williams’ first season in 1988/89.

This season is a pathetic excuse for Kansas basketball. I hold Bill Self and the players accountable. I love you, but do better. Sincerely, Tom.

Dajuan Harris played 34 minutes tonight and only took two shots.
KJ Adams played 33 minutes tonight and only grabbed four rebounds.
Hunter Dickinson and Zeke Mayo combined for 13 turnovers.
Kansas is losing to Houston 100 times out of 100 when all those things occur.
