KALAMAZOO, Mich. — After the New Year’s festivities from the night before are over, the fun will continue Wednesday afternoon in Kalamazoo –and for a good cause.
The 42nd annual One One Run will kick off at Spring Valley Park on Mt. Olivet Road in celebration of community, fitness, and giving back, according to organizers.
All proceeds from the run/walk will go towards supporting programs and services for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kalamazoo, organizers said.
The longtime race director for the Borgess Run for the Health of IT!, John E. Daley, started the One One Run more than four decades ago.
“The John Daley Memorial One One Run presented by Lewis C. Howard, Inc. is an opportunity for families, friends, and community members to connect during the holiday season in a shared experience, to participate in an event to promote healthy living into the new year, and to support the advancement of youth in our community,” Matt Lynn, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kalamazoo, said.
Organizers said the event is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will consist of two, untimed-laps around the park.
