This will put an end to any whispers Joel Embiid wants out of Philadelphia.
The star big man signed a three-year, $193 million extension with the 76ers, he announced on Instagram on Friday morning.
The 30-year-old Embiid had two years and $110 million left on his contract and wiped out his player option for the 2026-27 season.
He is now signed through the 2028-29 season and will make $299.5 million for the duration of the contract, ESPN reported.
The extension will further connect him to the only franchise he’s known.
“Philadelphia is home,” Embiid wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him signing the contract at the 76ers’ facility. “I want to be here for the rest of my career. I love this community and everything you’ve given me and my family. There is a lot more work to do. You guys deserve a championship and I think we’re just getting started! #Trust the process.”
Embiid was pictured alongside his wife, Anne De Paula, and 4-year-old son, Elijah Arthur, at the signing.
The 76ers will be looking to make a leap this upcoming season after they were eliminated by the Knicks in six games in the first round in April.
The team signed star forward Paul George in free agency to pair with Embiid and rising point guard Tyrese Maxey in what should be a formidable contender in the Eastern Conference.
