ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Illinois Department of Employment Security release the job report, showing an increase in jobs and employment in the Rockford area.
From October 2023 to 2024, the unemployment rate in Rockford decreased by .7%, and the total jobs increased by 1,200.
Only 5 out of 11 counties in the Rockford area had an increase in unemployment, with the highest being a 1.1% increase in McHenry County.
The state of Illinois saw 39,000 more jobs this October than last year, and a .7% increase in unemployment.
