The Selma Housing Authority will have a kickoff event for Jobs Plus, a transformative initiative aimed at empowering job seekers in our community.
The event is Thursday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. at the George Washington Carver Homes Community Center, 414 Martin Luther King Street, where we will officially launch this program designed to enhance employment opportunities and provide vital resources to help residents of Felix Heights and GWC achieve their career goals.
Jobs Plus is a collaborative effort that connects job seekers with training, resources, and support services tailored to meet the needs of our diverse community. The program focuses on increasing employment rates, providing career advancement opportunities, and fostering a sustainable workforce.
The kickoff event will feature keynote speakers from local government, business leaders, and workforce development experts, who will share insights on the importance of job readiness and the impact of meaningful employment in our community. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the services available through Jobs Plus, including resume workshops, interview preparation, and skills training sessions.
“We are thrilled to launch Jobs Plus and bring together individuals seeking new career opportunities and local businesses looking to hire skilled talent,” said Natalie Lewis. “This initiative is not just about finding jobs; it’s about building brighter futures for everyone in our community.”
The event is free to attend and open to all job seekers, employers, and community members interested in learning more about Jobs Plus. Light refreshments will be provided
