Homa: The French firm has hired Rohan Jain as its new head of corporate development. He previously spent five years at Zynga, most recently working as its director of corporate development and strategy, and also served as manager of corporate development at NCSoft.
Katerina Burbela has also come on board as Homa’s senior business development manager. She previously held similar positions at Remote Control Productions, Gamigo and Kevuru Games.
ForthStar: The new studio from Playdemic’s founders has appointed Chantal Zuurmond as head of production. She recently spent two years as production director at Keywords’ Lively/Electric Square, and has also worked at CCP Games, Riot, Sumo Digital and PlayStation.
Tactile Games: There are four new hires at The Lily’s Garden maker. New 2D game artist Elif Cenal joins from Passion Punch Studio, and QA automation engineer Serafeim Vasileiou comes on board from Kaizen Gaming.
Ceren Unan Sert moves from Imaginite Studios to become a senior level designer at Tactile, and new game monetisation manager Eduardo Prado previously spent four years as a live ops and monetization specialist at Miniclip.
King: The Candy Crush maker has named Federico Gomez Kodela as director of its program management office. He was previously director of product operations at the company, which he joined following 11 years at Google, where he was mobile lead for Spain and Portugal.
Rollic: The Zynga-owned hypercasual firm has promoted Ali Han Satır to head of live games. He previously worked as a product specialist, game designer and senior product manager at the firm.
Ruby Games: The Turkish developer and publisher has appointed Ahmet Özkılıç as product manager. He joins the Rovio-owned firm from Joker Games, where he most recently held the same job title.
FunPlus: The State of Survival maker has hired Huishuang C. as ASO manager. She joins its Barcelona studio following over two years at Gameloft, where she most recently served as store marketing manager.
Theymes: The customer support software maker has named Richard Weber as lead engineer. He was previously a senior software specialist at Insta and a software consultant at Mavericks.
Unity: The engine giant has promoted Alex Blum to the role of chief operating officer. He joined Unity’s leadership team in July as senior VP of corporate development. Blum previously invested in and incubated ad tech companies including AdMeld, Acquisio, Tru Optik, Springserve, TvScientific, and Optable.
The company has also appointed Steve Collins as its new chief technology officer. As reported previously, most recently he was CTO at King, and held the same role at middleware firm Havok and mobile marketing cloud platform Swrve, both of which he also co-founded.
Netflix: As we reported previously, Mike Verdu has taken on the new role of VP of generative AI for games at the streaming giant, not long after being succeeded as Netflix Games boss by ex-Epic exec Alain Tascan. Ex-EA Mobile boss Verdu, who was also previously VP of AR/VR content at Meta, said his new job “is about driving a ‘once in a generation’ inflection point for game development and player experiences” using generative AI.
