Joann R. (Diehl) Lovett, 86, of Altoona, passed away Saturday morning. She was born in Duncansville, daughter of the late F. Glenn and Ethel (Wilt) Diehl.
She married Charles Lovett in 1994. He preceded her in death in 2007 after sharing 13 years of marriage.
Surviving are three daughters: Karen Gildea (David), Linda Buckreis (Dennis) and Diane Westover (Kevin); a stepdaughter, Andrea
Hildebrand; two stepsons, Charles and Christopher Lovett (Chasity); 11 grandchildren: Sarah (Aaron), Zachary, Olivia, Andrew (Jennifer), Nicole (Andres), Kristen, Phillip (Keely), Tyler, Kaylee (Jonathan), Ella, and Benjamin; 10 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School, and retired as the branch manager of Mead Credit Union.
Joann was a lifetime member of Hicks Church, Duncansville, and a member of The Red Hat Society, Quilting Club and the YMCA, where she enjoyed water aerobics.
She loved traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. No distance was too far for her. Joann always made everyone feel happy and loved. She was an awesome grandma, great at sending thoughtful greeting cards for every birthday and holiday and making memories like tea time, swinging, baking, chocolate kisses, and blowing bubbles with her great-grandchildren.
Her joyful spirit lives on in the special memories held, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Hicks Church, 1211 Third Ave., Duncansville, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m.
