Jimmy Fallon recalled beating Tiger Woods ‘in a game of golf’ and how the PGA Tour legend did not take the loss lightly.
While Woods’ legendary career will be remembered for his 15 major wins, he may have a thorn on his side in the form of a loss to The Tonight Show host, despite it not being on his record.
Speaking to NBC Golf on Wednesday, Fallon recounted the high of besting Woods in Wii Golf.
‘I did beat Tiger Woods in a game of golf,’ Fallon said. ‘It was Nintendo Wii Golf but it still counts, the word ‘golf’ is in the same sentence. He got mad at me, I remember this.
‘Athletes take it very seriously, any sporting thing, any game. I remember playing Tiger Woods and I beat him in his own game – Tiger Woods [PGA Tour], Wii Golf.’

Fallon went on to detail how Woods reacted when he gave him tips to succeed in the unrealistic, virtual, video game simulation of the sport.
‘I remember saying: ‘Tiger if you press down and shake the controller, it gives you a backspin.”
‘And he said: ‘Don’t tell me how to play my game,” Fallon added while staring angrily into the camera.
Fallon appeared on the program to promote his 4-hole match against DJ Khaled airing on NBC on Friday the 13th – entitled the ‘Cardigan Classic’.
With a win over the golf legend, Fallon beams in confidence that he will emerge victorious when he and the music icon take the course at Lake Tahoe.
Fallon and DJ Khaled will go head to head in the ‘Cardigan Classic’ which airs on NBC on Friday
‘It’s a very intense golf match. Possibly the most intense athletic contest to air on television,’ Fallon quipped on his show. ‘Four holes, two guys, one winner. And that winner gets to take home the official championship red cardigan sweater.’
‘And guess what, Khaled. They’re so confident I’m gonna win, I’m hearing they only made the sweater in my size. That’s right, youth large.’
