Jayden Daniels, a native of San Bernadino, California, attended Arizona State out of high school. Per 247Sports, Daniels signed with Arizona State over a litany of offers that included Utah, UCLA and more. After graduating in three years from Arizona State, Daniels transferred to LSU in 2022.
Daniels was a four-star quarterback at Cajon High School. Daniels, a top-40 player in the country, was the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2019 and the No. 3 player in California behind Kayvon Thibodeaux and Bru McCoy. Daniels finished his high school career with a 44-10 record, a CIF-Southern Section record of 14,007 passing yards and 170 passing touchdowns while adding 3,645 rushing yards and 41 more scores.
The California native was a finalist in the Elite 11 and played in the Under Armour All-American Game.
In the 13 games Daniels played at Arizona State, the Sun Devils won 18, including the 2019 Sun Bowl over Florida State. At LSU, he went 20-7, winning the 2023 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl and 2024 ReliaQuest Bowl.
