Black History Month is a time to honor and highlight the stories of remarkable individuals in our community, and Jasmine Williams is one of them. NBC Palm Springs’ Caitlin Kelley introduces Williams, a pro bodybuilder and owner of Legendary Glute Studio, whose journey from New York to California is inspiring a new generation of Black women entrepreneurs.
Jasmine’s love for fitness emerged after moving to California, sparking her passion for group training and ultimately leading her to bodybuilding. Her dedication paid off, propelling her from amateur competitions to the global stage at the Olympia. “It gave me so much more discipline in my life. It lined up my purpose that I was searching for. And it also gave me my business,” Williams shared.
Owning a business as a Black woman in the Coachella Valley presents unique challenges, but Williams embraces her rarity. “I like to be rare. I love it,” she said. “Where I come from, you’re not supposed to make it this far.”
Her message to young Black women with entrepreneurial dreams is clear: “Go for it. Take out all the no’s, replace them with yeses. All the hurt you’re going through—it’s temporary.”
Jasmine’s story is a testament to perseverance, hard work, and the power of believing in yourself.
